I love listening to podcasts.
I listen to them almost everyday. They are a great source of entertainment and education. There are podcasts for just about every topic out there. There are even podcasts for choir conductors such as myself. When I first discovered that podcasts existed on iTunes I was overwhelmed with the thousands of different options. However, I could not find very many podcasts designed for choir conductors. (There are a few great ones that I will highlight in my next blog post). I decided to start my very own podcast designed for choir conductors and music educators. I wanted to have conversations with professionals in the choir and music education profession to gain knowledge that I can apply to my conducting and teaching. I chose to do very little editing of the actual recorded conversation. I want the listener to feel as if they are sitting there with us. I have already learned so much from the guests of the first few episodes. I have also learned a lot about the process of recording and editing a podcast. (Listen to Episode 003 to find out why I will no longer record outside). I hope that this will be a valuable free resource for new and experienced music educators. The official launch of The Choir Conductor Podcast will be on August 30th. My goal is to have weekly episodes that will be released on iTunes and Stitcher every Tuesday. You can listen to some preview episodes of the podcast here. I would love to hear your feedback. If you would like to be a guest on The Choir Conductor Podcast please send me an email!
